WPC Decking Machine In India

EANS recently completed a WPC decking machine project for an Indian plastic extrusion company. The customer purchased three WPC decking production lines to expand from processing recycled plastic to manufacturing outdoor WPC decking.

The project focused on processing recycled PE flakes and wood powder into high-density WPC decking, wall claddings, fencing, columns, etc. In addition to supplying the production lines, EANS provided factory layout planning, overseas installation and commissioning, on-site trial production, formula adjustment, and operator training.

This case study shows how EANS developed and commissioned the WPC decking production solution based on the customer’s raw materials, product requirements, and actual production conditions.

Customer Requirements

The customer already had experience in plastic recycling and planned to expand into WPC profile production for the outdoor construction market.

Unlike a project using only virgin plastic, the customer needed to process recycled PE flakes together with wood powder. Variations in recycled material can affect extrusion stability, profile formation, and finished-product consistency, making the process more demanding.

The customer therefore needed a WPC decking production solution that could:

  • Process recycled PE and wood powder consistently
  • Maintain stable extrusion and profile forming
  • Produce decking profiles with consistent dimensions and surface appearance
  • Adapt the production process to locally available raw materials
  • Include overseas installation, commissioning, and trial production
  • Provide practical training for local operators

Based on these requirements, EANS designed the project around the customer’s actual materials and target decking profiles rather than applying a standard line configuration.

EANS Solution: From Configuration to Trial Production

For this project, EANS supplied three complete WPC decking extrusion lines and provided technical support throughout installation and commissioning.

The solution went beyond machinery supply. The main focus was to make sure the equipment, material formulation, processing conditions, and downstream forming process worked together under the customer’s actual production conditions.

WPC Extrusion and Profile Forming

The WPC decking making machine uses a conical twin screw extrusion system for plasticizing, mixing, and continuously extruding the WPC material.

Because the formulation contains wood powder and other additives, wear resistance is an important consideration for continuous production. The extrusion system was configured with wear-resistant treatment for the components exposed to the wood-filled material.

After extrusion, the decking profile passes through vacuum calibration and cooling before being pulled and cut to the required length.

The downstream section was selected to maintain stable profile dimensions and support continuous production of both hollow and solid decking profiles.

Overseas Installation & Commissioning in India

To support the customer’s project, EANS provided on-site technical service in India.

Before the engineers arrived, the factory layout and installation requirements were reviewed, including equipment positioning, cooling water connections, electrical requirements, and production-line arrangement.

EANS then dispatched two technical engineers to the customer’s factory for mechanical installation, electrical connection, machine adjustment, and commissioning.

Installation

The engineers worked with the customer’s team to complete the installation and connection of the production lines.

The equipment positioning and line alignment were checked before commissioning to ensure that the extrusion and downstream sections could operate together correctly.

Commissioning

After installation, the engineers carried out machine testing and parameter adjustment.

The extrusion process, cooling, profile forming, haul-off, and cutting sections were checked during commissioning. The line was then prepared for trial production using the customer’s actual raw materials.

On-Site Trial Production

Trial production was an important part of the project.

Instead of completing commissioning with only test materials, EANS engineers worked with the customer’s recycled PE flakes and wood powder to evaluate the actual extrusion and forming process.

During the trial, the engineering team adjusted processing parameters and material formulation according to the observed extrusion behavior and finished decking profile.

This helped the customer move from equipment installation to practical production more efficiently.

Project Results

After commissioning, the WPC decking production lines entered regular operation.

The customer successfully produced both hollow and solid WPC decking profiles for outdoor construction applications. The production process demonstrated stable profile forming and consistent finished-product appearance under the customer’s recycled PE and wood powder formulation.

Stable Long-Term Operation

The production lines have remained in operation for more than 12 months after commissioning, providing the customer with a long-term production solution for recycled PE-based WPC decking.

Finished WPC Decking

The finished products include hollow and solid WPC decking profiles suitable for outdoor applications.

The customer also completed product testing for properties including water absorption and impact resistance according to its required standards.

Material Cost Optimization

During on-site formula adjustment, EANS engineers optimized the material formulation and processing conditions according to the customer’s local raw materials.

The optimized formulation helped reduce the customer’s raw material cost by approximately 12% compared with the initial formulation.

This India project demonstrates that a successful WPC decking production line depends on more than equipment configuration. Raw material characteristics, extrusion conditions, profile forming, on-site commissioning, and operator training all influence the final production result.

For this Indian customer, EANS provided a complete project solution covering production-line configuration, factory preparation, overseas installation, commissioning, formula adjustment, trial production, and operator training.

For manufacturers planning a WPC decking production project, EANS can develop the line configuration according to the target decking profile, available raw materials, production requirements, and local factory conditions, with technical support available through installation and commissioning.
