PVC roofing sheet is a lightweight roofing material made primarily from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin and various additives. It is manufactured by extrusion and forming processes to create flat, corrugated, or multi-layer roofing panels.
1. Raw material mixing: PVC resin, plasticizer, stabilizer, and other raw materials are mixed according to a certain proportion to ensure uniform mixing of the raw materials.
2. PVC Extrusion: The prepared PVC compound is fed into the PVC roofing sheet extruder, where it is heated, plasticized, mixed, and conveyed forward. The screw design and processing temperature are controlled to achieve uniform plasticization and stable material flow.
3. Co-Extrusion for Multilayer Sheets: For multilayer PVC roofing sheets, two or more extruders feed different formulations into a co-extrusion die. This creates a multilayer structure, such as a UV-resistant surface layer combined with a structural core layer.
4. Sheet Forming: The extruded PVC melt passes through the forming system, where corrugated, trapezoidal, or other roofing profiles are shaped. The forming rollers determine the final profile, width, and surface shape of the sheet.
5. Corrugation Calibration Cooling: The formed sheet is cooled and calibrated to stabilize its dimensions and profile. Controlled cooling helps maintain consistent thickness, width, and dimensional stability.
6. Haul-Off: A haul-off unit continuously pulls the roofing sheet through the production line at a controlled speed. Stable hauling helps maintain uniform sheet dimensions and production speed.
7. Cutting: The continuous roofing sheet is cut into the required lengths by an automatic cutting machine. Cutting length can be adjusted according to customer requirements.
8. Stacking and Inspection: Finished PVC roofing sheets are collected and stacked automatically or manually. The sheets are then inspected for surface quality, thickness, width, profile accuracy, and overall appearance.

A standard PVC roofing sheet production line typically requires 3–5 workers per shift, depending on the production capacity and level of automation. With automatic cutting, stacking, and packaging systems, labor requirements can be further reduced while improving production efficiency.
