Home Product Auxiliary Machines Single Screw PVC Granulator Pelletizing Machine
A single screw PVC granulator machine is an extrusion-based pelletizing system that melts, mixes, and granulates PVC materials into uniform pellets for reuse in plastic pipe, profile, sheet, and other PVC products.
Single screw extrusion is generally more suitable for relatively uniform PVC materials and recycling applications, while twin screw extrusion provides stronger mixing and processing flexibility for complex PVC formulations.

What is a single screw PVC granulator machine?
A single screw PVC granulator machine is an extrusion-based pelletizing system that melts, mixes, and granulates PVC materials into uniform pellets for reuse in plastic pipe, profile, sheet, and other PVC products.
Lower Investment and Easier Maintenance
Compared with twin-screw systems, the single screw PVC granulator requires a lower initial investment while keeping maintenance costs under control. Its simple structure, fewer wear parts, and easy screw replacement help reduce long-term operating expenses.
Stable PVC Granule Quality
The low-shear extrusion design minimizes material degradation during processing, producing PVC granules with better strength, toughness, and consistency for downstream pipe, profile, cable, and sheet production.
Efficient Vacuum Degassing and Filtration
A long L/D screw combined with vacuum degassing removes moisture and volatile gases, while the hydraulic screen changer maintains continuous production and stable melt filtration without frequent downtime.
Intelligent Feeding and Energy Saving
The integrated feeding system improves material conveying efficiency and reduces bridging, while high-efficiency motors and precise temperature control help lower energy consumption during continuous PVC recycling.
Flexible Single-Stage or Two-Stage Configuration
The Single Screw PVC Granulator can be configured as a single-stage or two-stage pelletizing system, allowing manufacturers to upgrade capacity, improve filtration, and adapt to different PVC recycling requirements.
| Featrue | Single Screw | Twin Screw |
|---|---|---|
| Machine structure | Simpler | More complex |
| Mixing | Moderate | Excellent |
| Plasticizing | Good | Excellent |
| Processing flexibility | Moderate | High |
| PVC recycling | Suitable | Suitable |
| Complex PVC formulations | Limited | Better |
| Investment | Lower | Higher |
| Maintenance | Easier | More complex |
A single screw pelletizer may be suitable when the PVC material has already been properly compounded and requires stable extrusion and pellet cutting. A twin screw system is generally considered when stronger mixing, dispersion, or formulation control is required. Final selection should be based on material testing and target output.
1. Feeding and Material Conveying: PVC materials enter the feeding system and are pushed forward by the rotating single screw. The screw continuously conveys the material into the barrel, ensuring stable and consistent feeding.
2. Single Screw Melting and Plasticizing: As the material moves through the compression section, the barrel heaters and the screw's mechanical friction work together to melt the PVC. The material is gradually transformed into a uniform molten state for stable extrusion.
3. Vacuum Degassing and Melt Filtration: The molten PVC passes through the vacuum degassing section, where moisture and volatile gases are removed to improve pellet quality. It then flows through a hydraulic screen changer, which filters impurities while allowing continuous production.
4. Hot cutting: Cut the PVC into required sizes
5. Cooling Drying: The purified melt is extruded through the die head and cut into uniform PVC granules by the water ring pelletizing system. The pellets are immediately cooled, centrifugally dried, and discharged for packaging or further processing.
6. Screening: The PVC granule screening system separates qualified pellets from oversized particles, fines, and agglomerated material after the pelletizing and cooling process. A vibrating screen or other suitable screening equipment can be configured according to the required pellet size and production capacity.
7. Finished PVC granules: The finished granules are ready for market.
